SYNOPSIS
Moving from the intimate to the cosmic, “Soul of the Foot” is an essay film that explores memory, erasure, and a country in transition. Weaving archival footage with chance encounters, it is anchored by fragments of old home video—quiet gestures of family life where the domestic and political subtly intertwine. Shot partly on 16mm, the camera captures the dense textures of present-day Türkiye: election noise, street musicians, and the friction of shifting nationalisms. Navigating the space between rural memory and urban fracture, the film searches for a pulse of belonging suspended between what persists and what slips away.
